Motordrive Seats are proud to be working with Katie Milner …
Motordrive Seats are proud to announce a new partnership with up and coming racing talent Katie Milner. The 17 year-old MSA Squad member from York has been racing in the Ginetta GT5 series this season. However, on 2nd September 2017 Katie will make the switch to a Porsche 997 GT3 car when she takes part in a round of the Britcar Endurance Championship at Donington Park.
Having double British Rally Champion Jonny Milner for a dad was inspirational for Katie, and she began her career in Autograss. After claiming five separate junior titles in just four seasons of racing, she progressed to the JSCC in 2015. 2016 saw Milner win the JSCC Championship, the BARC title of the ‘UK’s Most Successful Junior Female Racing Driver’, and become a BWRDC Gold Star winner.
Katie will be using our Motordrive carbon ‘Race’ seat. Our carbon fibre seats are 45% stiffer than the equivalent GRP/composite seat, meaning that the driver gets much more feedback through their body and can get a better feel for what the car is doing. This is especially beneficial when setting the car up.
Stay tuned for photographs and updates as we see Katie’s new seat in action, padded to suit her shape and finished with her own custom embroidery. Not only does the custom fit mean Katie (although relatively small) will be held safely, it also means that she’ll be comfortable and so can focus on the job in hand.
Katie, like Motordrive Seats, is a force to be reckoned with and has such an immense potential. We can’t wait to see the finished seat in action and it’s great to be working with Katie and her team.
