Motordrive proudly presents it’s partnership with Power Maxed Racing
A world-class first for motorsport from British pairing…
Power Maxed Racing (PMR) are pleased to announce their ongoing Technical Partnership with world-class seat manufacturer, Motordrive.
With over 40 years’ experience in manufacturing motorsport safety solutions, Motordrive, much like PMR, are at the forefront of their industry, and work constantly to evolve and progress safety within motorsport.
Working alongside PMR, Motordrive have developed the World’s first 4- and 6-point mounted FIA 8862-2009 advanced motorsport competition seats. The FIA 8862-2009 standard is the very highest seat safety standard and only a very small number of seats are successful in being approved at this level. The launch of the Motordrive ‘MD’ range is significant as it will be FIA approved for use in both race and rally.
The partnership will see the carbon fibre shelled seats in PMR’s BTCC Vauxhall Astra’s during the 2019 season, and visitors to Motorsport Days Live this weekend at Silverstone will be able to see the new ‘MD’ range both on Motordrive’s stand, and in situ within the NGTC-specification Astra in PMR’s garage.
PMR Team Manager, Martin Broadhurst, said “We’re excited to be working with a company as forward thinking as Motordrive. It’s great to see British companies at the pointy end of
engineering, and with so few seats previously homologated to this specification, it can only be a good thing for motorsport.”
“Motordrive Seats has earned itself a reputation as being ‘top of the pyramid’ in seat engineering, after creating the lightest FIA 8862-2009 seat available on the market. Working alongside PMR has given us vindication for the hard work the team have put in to get us to this point, and we are delighted PMR have chosen Motordrive as their preferred partner,” said Darren Meadows, Motordrive’s Managing Director.
Warwickshire-based Power Maxed Racing (PMR) is a professional motor racing team currently competing in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with the Vauxhall Astra’s designed and built by the 10-man team at PMR.
In the Astra’s debut season, PMR achieved several podium finishes and secured the coveted Jack Sears Trophy with five races of the Championship still to run. The team won 3 races in 2018, with 9 podium and 31 Top-10 finishes, seeing them finish the championship.
PMR is headed up by Team Principal, Adam Weaver and highly respected BTCC engineer, Martin Broadhurst. Weaver also owns sister company Automotive Brands, whose product portfolio includes well respected aftermarket brands Power Maxed and Steel Seal.
