Motordrive – Making Motorsport More Affordable
Motorsport has never been a cheap hobby. Whether you’re building a track car for weekend use or competing wheel-to-wheel, costs can quickly spiral. Safety equipment is one of the most important investments any driver can make, but it’s also often one of the biggest expenses.
That’s exactly the problem Motordrive is aiming to tackle with the launch of its new Club Pro and Club Race seat ranges.
Known for designing FIA-approved motorsport seats used across multiple levels of racing, Motordrive has announced a new two-tier offering designed to support both entry-level drivers and more performance-focused competitors.
The move is part of a wider push to make proper motorsport safety equipment more accessible without compromising on quality, safety or compliance.
A More Affordable Route Into Motorsport
The new Club and Classic FIA-approved seat ranges start from just £395 plus VAT.
For many drivers entering the sport, replacing seats due to changing FIA regulations or upgrading from ageing equipment can be a significant financial hit. Motordrive’s latest range is designed to reduce that barrier while still offering the standards expected from a professional motorsport brand.
The seats build on the company’s existing range and feature optional Comfort Padding Systems, helping improve usability for drivers spending long periods behind the wheel during races, testing or track days.
Designed by People Who Actually Race
One thing that separates Motordrive from many brands is that the people behind the products are heavily involved in motorsport themselves.
Darren Meadows, Director of Motordrive and an active competitor, explained the thinking behind the new range:
“I know from personal experience how expensive motorsport can be, especially when seats have to be replaced due to dating or other regulation changes. At Motordrive we have stepped up to address this challenge and are pleased to now offer a full range of FIA approved seats from the off-the-shelf entry-level clubman range to our advanced, professional, customised MD seats.”
That real-world experience has clearly shaped the direction of the new products.
FIA Approved Without the Eye-Watering Price Tag
There’s been a growing gap in the market between budget seats that struggle to inspire confidence and premium motorsport seats carrying serious price tags.
Motordrive’s aim is simple: bridge that gap.
The new range gives drivers access to FIA-approved safety equipment from a recognised motorsport manufacturer without needing to remortgage the trailer to buy it.
For club racers, track day drivers, endurance teams and even sim racers building realistic competition-inspired setups, it’s a strong step in the right direction.
